We don’t forget that we are counselors first, attorneys second. It is rare a client is not in need of a counselor. We work with our clients in order to prepare them to go out the door and leave better than when they came in.
— James R. Rey

James is a lifelong El Pasoan who spent eight years living in Arizona while attending to his studies. He returned to El Paso in 2000 to practice law. Starting the law firm over 20 years ago, James lives with his heart and soul pouring into his clients. His vision is for the personal and unique success of his clients. James lives with the awareness that it is a great privilege  to connect with his clients, walk with them and even beyond their legal need to be there  for them.

We expect them to come back after the work is done. Clients have access to their attorney. They know where we are at, we are here to stay. They can call or text us throughout the day with direct access to us.
— James R. Rey

Having been raised by his mother who has been involved in the El Paso legal industry and downtown real estate market for all of his life, James has purchased several properties in the downtown redevelopment area. His mother founded Amigo Bail Bonds in 1975. He is a third generation attorney on his father’s side and has been involved in the El Paso legal community nearly all of his life. The combination of these things have molded James into one of the most honest, hard-working, well-respected attorneys and entrepreneurs in El Paso.

James and his family have committed themselves to renovating and restoring their newly acquired properties and are dedicated to the movements being made to revitalize the entire downtown area. James is one of the founding board members of the El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Theatre project. He has a passion for El Paso and the success of this community.

On a more personal note, James is known throughout the country for his achievements in tennis. He was the 1992 High School State Tennis Champion while playing at Coronado High School. He went on to become a four-year letter winner for Men’s Tennis at the University of Arizona. In 1994, he made the Pac-10 Conference Men’s Tennis All-Academic First Team. James still enjoys playing competitive tennis and spending time with his family.
